First Time Carp Fisherman

My niece and her boyfriend have been visiting this week from Missouri. While the girls went shopping, the guys went fishing.

Zack is used to bass fishing, but did enjoy landing 3 carp in about 4 hours today.

My name is Brian Pearcy and I fish for common carp.

If you are like most of the people in my family, close friends and a few co-workers I have told about my carp fishing exploits; you might not be familiar with fishing for carp. You might be familiar with or previously fished for bluegill, crappie, bass, catfish, walleye, or some salt water species; but unless you already fish for carp you may not realize their true potential as a sport fish.

Please keep an open mind while reading my carp fishing blog. I’ll do my best to convince you that the common carp are getting a bad rap sometimes. Hopefully I'll convince you that fishing for carp is a great idea.

I plan to post my carp fishing pictures, highlights from various fishing venues I visit, results, equipment reviews, observations, and anything else I think might be interesting about carp fishing.
