Fall Carp Fishing Surprise

I headed out in early November for one last opportunity to do some fall carp fishing. The primary spot was closed today for some parking lot repairs, so we found an alternate location.

I ended up with four carp. The water was still plenty warm, so be sure you take advantage of the fall bite when you have an opportunity.

Just as water takes weeks to warm up in spring, it also takes a few weeks to cool down.

This one pulled like a tank and caught me off guard. This location is not known for big carp, so getting one in the 20# range is unusual.

Fall Carp Fishing Detroit River

I had a vacation day and realized that the photos have not been posted here.

I had a vacation day and spent the morning fishing at the Detroit River. I ended at 10 fish with the largest weighing 28 lbs 8 oz.

Fall is a great time of year to catch carp on the Detroit River and the weather this day was fantastic.
